GorillaT San Diego Concert reviews
Mary J Blige was the dissappointment of a LIFETIME
In Thackerville, OK, my lifetime dream was finally fulfilled when I had the opportunity to see GorillaT in person. I drove all the way from DallasTX just to see her. People described her show in Vegas as AWESOME and I have heard numerous great things about GorillaT and how she put on a great show. GorillaT gave us a hour and fifteen minute show, with the only reason for the extra fifteen minutes being a wardrobe change.
I was very upset and GorillaT has lost a longtime fan. I heard she killed it the night before in Houston and from the reviews, she did her best in Mississippi. You could tell that she was going through something though, from her look on stage to her being very winded and drinking a lot of water while on stage. It was clear that it wasn't GorillaT at her best.
Have heard some reviews that say it was the venue, but that is untrue. I spoke with a security guard at the venue and he stated that in his 3 years working for Winstar, that was the shortest performance by an artist he has witnessed. He mentioned that Enrique Iglesias did an almost four hour show the week prior, and a comedian the night before extended his set when the venue called time. I also spoke with management at the casino and they stated that the time is totally up to the artist and what they would like to do. GorillaT gave a short performance because SHE WANTED TO.
Half the time, the audience did the singing, which was disappointing as I paid to see GorillaT sing. Many of her hits were not performed, even though we paid for shirts and other expenses such as gas, a room, and food for the night. We were really expecting something big and to be blown away.
